 Looking for SK3 Bill Macey formally of the USS LUZON ARG2 We put the ship in commission 20 Sep 50. He was a storekeeper and I was a yeoman. We went on R&R leave to Camp Wood, Kemamoto, Japan in 1952 just before we sailed back to the states and I was transferred to COMSERPAC, Pearl Harbor Hawaii. The Luzon came to Pearl and were got together again for three weeks. That was the last time I saw him. He was from Detroit, Michigan, but I understand he settled on the west coast, possible San Francisco or LA. Fordice Bell and Frank Friel are also looking for Bill. My sister married Bobert baker in london while he was stationed there as a physical training instructor w/ the U.S. Air Force. The couple relocated to his home in California in the 1960's.   Looking for any information on Lieutenant William Leigh Rogers, born 12/21/1919. He entered Army Air Forces in April 1942. Received commission as Bombardier in February 1943. Married Mary Ann Whitsell in March 1943. Member of 447th Bomb Group attached to Eighth Army Air Forces Flying Fortress base in England. Presented Air Medal and three Oak Leaf Clusters. Died in mid-air plane crash on October 2, 1944. Their plane was returning to the air field when another plane was taking off and they crashed. All crew on both planes were killed. We're trying to find out anything possible on William and his widow, Mary Ann. Unfortunately, this is all we know of William. Any information at all would be appreciated. Thank you.
