Have you heard about the Affordable Connectivity Program?

The Affordable Connectivity Program, a federal program by the Federal Communications Commission, was established to help lower the cost of internet service for the home for those who qualify. There is even a one-time discount for when you purchase a tablet, desktop computer, or laptop when certain criteria are met. This program caught my eye because I found that those who receive Veterans Pension or Survivor Benefits qualify for this program. Even if you are not receiving a pension or Survivor Benefits, but may be dealing with financial insecurity, I highly recommend that you look at their eligibility list and see if you can qualify under a different criteria.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is able to lower the cost of your internet service for up to $30 a month and it does not matter which plan you are under. So if you happen to only be paying $30 a month, you potentially can get internet in your home for free! According to what I read on the program, this discount can be applied to any preferred participating provider so you may want to check and see if the provider you are currently using is participating in this program. It will also be good to check and see if the internet service provider has their own application. If not, then you can apply through GetInternet.gov

I came across this program because Frontier, the internet provider that I am signed up with, sent me an email about this program. I am not endorsing Frontier nor am I receiving any type of compensation for mentioning their name, but I appreciate that they are taking the initiative to let their customers know that this program exists because times have been and still are hard and every penny really does count.

For more information on the program and eligibility, you can go to page on Affordable Connectivity Program in the Federal Communications Commission website by clicking here. To use the FCC’s application for the ACP discount, you can click here

For those who have or are still participating in the Affordable Connectivity Program, how has this program been working for you? Was it easy to sign up? Has there been any issue? I really would love to hear from you! You can leave a reply below.
