Where can I donate clothes and shoes for vets?

Hey La Ronda,

Clothing donations are available for pick up by several groups throughout the country.

The largest group I found is the VVA (Vietnam Veterans of America). They receive donations for all veterans regardless of the era served. I couldn’t find the regions and cities they serve but a Google Map search in my area showed they had several donation centers along the Los Angeles/San Bernardino County Line.

If you schedule a pickup they will use your zip code to identify if they have the means to pick up donations in your area. They accept not only clothing but also some small appliances and small furniture items.

There is also an organization that I have seen locally called pickupplease.org. Their service areas include: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. To see if your city is listed visit their website.
They accept clothing, toys, exercise equipment, electronics, books and tool. Read their full list of acceptable donations.

There are also several other organizations which are much more localized like DAV in Dallas Texas or AMVETS in Southern California.
